Zellige Beldi — hand-cut mosaic
DTAT's zellige beldi is cut piece by piece by our Maâlems from Moroccan clay, fired in a traditional kiln, then assembled into geometric patterns. Every tessera carries slight shade variations, the signature of handmade work.

What is the difference between zellige and bejmat?
Zellige is a mosaic of small glazed tesserae assembled into patterns; bejmat is a rectangular terracotta tile laid straight or in herringbone.
Does zellige beldi resist moisture?
Yes, its firing and glaze make it suitable for bathrooms, hammams and pool surrounds with an appropriate grout.
Can the pattern be customised?
Yes, DTAT creates bespoke patterns from a plan or an inspiration shared with your quote request.
